Join Tony for a monthly gathering with a wisdom talk (dharma) and meditation.  

Registration is requested although the cost of the dharma talk will be by donation.

 

Tony Tavares is a registered yoga teacher, registered acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, acupuncture and meditation teacher and mindfulness counsellor. He is the founder and director of Norwood Holistic Health Centre. Tony is on the faculty of Soghrati Yin Yoga Teacher Training and offers retreats within Ontario.

INTRODUCTION TO SOULCOLLAGE®

Come spend a day with with like-minded individuals and be amazed to see what parts of you appear in images and what they have to share with you.

SoulCollage® is a fun self-discovery process that involves creating cards filled with rich and personal imagery.  Using your imagination and intuition, along with scissors, glue, and images cut from magazines and books you will learn the basics for creating a deck of cards that reflect and honour the unique facets of your personality and soul-essence.

You will also discover how your deck of cards has the power to deepen your understanding of your Self and guide you in your life’s journey.  You will learn different ways of accessing your inner wisdom through your cards i.e. journaling and readings.

The process is simple and fun and no previous art experience is needed!

Inviting Animal Companions into your SoulCollage® deck

Join like-minded individuals and discover the animal companions who will bring vitality and wisdom to your SoulCollage deck.

Once you have learned the basics of SoulCollage®, this half-day workshop will help you deepen your understanding of the animal Companion suit of yourSoulCollage deck.  You will use guided imagery to discover your unique animal companions and how they can help you access your own inner wisdom to bring balance and vitality to your life.

The process is simple and fun and no previous art experience is needed!

 

Elise Laviolette B.A., M.Sc. Psych. MC :AT is an Art Therapist and registered SoulCollage® facilitator. Elise brings her love of art-based approaches and the wisdom of her own SoulCollage® practice to her work. She uses her kind presence and infectious enthusiasm to infuse each workshop with fun and a creative sparkle.

This new offering introduces the core principles of Buddhism over a 6 week series. What are the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path? What is Dharma? 

With an understanding of these concepts -- each week there is an opportunity to  cultivate skills of awareness to build a self-reflective contemplative practice that will guide you towards optimal health.  Explore How to build a better relationship with ourselves to find our true innate goodness—to truly love all parts of ourselves —the pleasant, unpleasant, experiences and hold them in our hearts.

TAIJI QIGONG SHIBASHI LEVEL 1                                THEORY & PRACTICE

This easy to learn Qigong practice consists of 18 movements to balance energy, and revitalize the body and mind. It is a practical yet profound practice for daily living. Practiced regularly Qigong can help with stress management and improve general wellness. 

Experience both the theory and practice of the movements. You will be provided with tools for home practice. All welcome.

BREATH AND BODY PRACTICES FOR ANXIETY

Everyone suffers from mild anxiety from time to time, but chronic anxiety not only can disrupt your life, but it can take a toll on the body creating an underlying state of tension and emotional fatigue. Anxiety can affect the breath, which may be constricted,  the body through chronic muscle tension and the mind with thoughts that may spin out of control.    

This workshop will introduce gentle movement to relieve tension, plus  breath awareness and restorative poses to promote emotional balance. No experience is necessary but the ability to get down onto the floor is necessary. 

 

 

 

 

 

RESTORATIVE YOGA MELTDOWN

Take some time for you.  Melt into a series of gentle supported postures to activate the parasympathetic nervous system.  Allow the body to find deep rest and connect to a heightened state of physical and emotional well being. Gentle yoga movements will release tension and realign the body's energy. A deep meditative state is facilitated as the body and mind surrender into bliss.

This popular candlelight class allows you to take a breather at this busy time of year where you can nourish yourself plus help community. All proceeds of this years class will be donated to:  Women's Resources of Kawartha Lakes.
