A special evening event as we begin to wind down for the summer.

Chanting simply means singing certain sounds or words.  Chanting calms our emotions and helps create a peaceful state to facilitat  meditation. It produces positive energy and aids in enhancing our overall health and well-being. The vibration of sound calms the nervous system and a unique sense of inner quiet is found. It is a way to open your heart and being present as you become one with the vibration of sound. It is not about being able to sing. Everyone is welcome. Chairs are always available if required.

Tony Tavares is a registered yoga teacher, registered acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, acupuncture and meditation teacher and mindfulness counsellor. He is the founder and director of Norwood Holistic Health Centre. Tony is on the faculty of Soghrati Yin Yoga Teacher Training and offers retreats within Ontario.

Since we can’t tie it up, lock it up or hold it down, training our mind with friendliness and kindness makes life more enjoyable. To train our mind is an act of compassion for ourselves and those around us.
