THE BUTEYKO METHOD OF BREATHING
with Steve Donald, Buteyko Toronto Practitioner
August 22nd, 23rd & 24th | 5:00 pm - 6:45 pm
Registration is Limited to 6
What is Buteyko Breathing Technique?
BBT is known as an asthma, sleep apnea and anxiety treatment; however, it is effective in treating a wide range of chronic health issues, as well as being good for general health and wellbeing.
It is breathing re-education aiming to reduce disordered breathing so that the breathing pattern becomes more efficient. This healing modality was developed by physician Dr. Konstantin Buteyko and uses gentle breathing exercises to restore optimal breathing efficiency and oxygen delivery. Dr. Buteyko believed as much as 80% of the general population in western countries breathes excessively.
"Clinical trails of the Buteyko method for asthma have shown remarkable results. The method is also widely used for snoring, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, allergies, anxiety and many other chronic health conditions. More recently the Buteyko method has been adopted as a breathing practice in movement and athletic pursuits."
*If there is enough interest, Steve will come to Lindsay to offer his Buteyko Breathing course in a small group session for learning this method. Information and pricing will be available that evening. Buteyko is most often taught in 5 classes. It's best if the first 3 classes fall on three consecutive days, with classes 4 and 5 following soon after. Classes may run from 1-2 hours in length.
